Last Monday RA Kids planted pinto beans during our study on seed types and the germination process. Today we measured plant heights and they sure have grown over the past week! Students observed growth rates of 1 1/2”- 4 1/2” and discussed possible reasons for different rates of growth. We decided to move the seedlings to a window location that receives more morning and afternoon sunlight. In the next few weeks and months, we will continue our efforts to overwinter some crops in hopes of an early spring harvest.
